Attainment

At Castle Primary School, we treat each child as an individual, helping them to develop into proactive, hard-working, aspirational and polite young people. We also have high expectations of our pupils academically and strive to help them achieve in all areas.

We are proud that despite the increased expectation of the new national assessment system, our KS2 children have made better than average progress in their reading. Our KS1 results are the best in the last three years in all subjects, when considering the new higher expectations, and the percentage of children ending Year 1 with a solid foundation in their understanding of phonics for reading was above the National Average in 2018-2019.
