A message from Jeremy Handscomb:
Across our trust of schools, we offer great professional development for our teachers. One of the best ways that we are able to do this, is by facilitating teachers from all our schools (and further afield too) to come and see the children and teachers working together in class. This week, we have hosted visits into all of our classes to see our maths sessions and writing sessions.
The feedback I’ve had from other teachers who have visited has been so positive and they have commented on a variety of things they saw, such as: the strong and encouraging relationships between adults and children; the focus and attention of the learners in the class; the careful questioning that teachers have employed in order to find out how well the children have understood their work; and the great way that our teaching assistants teach and support our children with their learning.
I want to thank all of our staff for opening their classroom doors in this way – their willingness to share their best improves what goes on in classrooms all over Somerset!
