A Message from Gareth Nation
Welcome back after all that snow! Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding that various events had to be postponed due to extreme weather last week. As soon as I receive confirmation of a new date for the Cyclo Cross competition, I will let you know. Several parents have been waiting patiently for Yeovil Town Football Club to come to school and promote their football sessions; I’m pleased to say that this took place yesterday. In the past, I have organised several football competitions and we’ve struggled to get a full team - please help us raise the profile of sport with your children so they can partake in these wonderful opportunities. I know Mrs Oliver would love to see more children wishing to take part in a netball club as well!
Year 5 went to Stanchester yesterday and took part in Wow Day. They had a wonderful time and I’ve had some lovely comments about everyone who attended. Well done to Year 5 for representing our school so well.
World Book Day was a huge success. The children (and staff) looked smashing in their fancy dress. Thank you parents for making the effort when putting the children’s costumes together! Well done to Mrs Downes for organising and resourcing the day.
On another note...
Mrs Whitelock, who has worked at Castle School for sometime now, will be retiring at the end of this term. We will be sorry to see her leave and we wish her all the best for the future. She will be missed by staff and children. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Whitelock for all she has done for the children of Castle Primary School.
Mrs Goad and Mrs Robinson will also be leaving at the end of this term. Once again I would like to thank them for their time and effort with the children of Castle School. Gareth Nation, Head of School
